Snowflakes

As much as I hate the snow, (and trust me, I think snow is beautiful before it gets stepped in and gets dirty because of the cars and stuff) I do believe it has a certain beauty, especially for photos. That is the ONLY reason I braved the snow and went into the backyard. AND GUYS, I'M WRITING IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE THIS IS OUR FIFTIETH POST. FIFTY!!! AND 38 FOLLOWERS WHICH IS INSANE. AND 5,600 ALMOST 5,700 VIEWS IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE. I HOPE YOU KNOW HOW MUCH WE APPRECIATE YOU!! Alright, I'm going to stop writing in all caps because it is killing my OCD. (I don't actually have OCD, but I can be a little obsessive over things like this)
This is the temp right now:

Ugh, and it is supposed to get colder tonight!! Compared to what it usually is this time of year (anywhere between 10 and 20 degrees), this isn't too bad, but the wind chill makes it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy worse. Just ew.

(Sorry, the pics are a bit blurry since it is getting so dark outside)

Sorry about the footprints. I'm a little over protective of the girls sometimes. There's about an inch of snow outside, but I didn't want to set Cece in that much snow.

I had to wear my coat and boots. It was actually kind of weird putting on my coat because it felt so heavy compared to my Aeropostale jackets. I was a little alarmed xD Also, trust me, this coat makes me looks kind of marshmallow like since it's too big. (I'm like a medium and a half, but of course, they don't have that size :P)

Some of you may have seen my comments on Adi's post on Google +, but for those of you who didn't, expect to see a Mockingjay type post on Friday ;) It's coming at ya :)

Which was your favorite pic?

The Your Blog Makes Me Smile Award

Sweet Miss Shelby-Grace from Oh My Dollies  created an award and nominated us for it! Thanks Shelby-Grace, you're very sweet!!
Here are the rules:
1. If you've been nominated, answer the questions at the bottom of the post, and nominate five to eight doll blogs and provide five to eight questions for your nominees to answer. You can make up your own questions or just use the one I made.

2. Link back to the original post about this award on the Oh My Dollies blog

3. Include this list of rules in your post

4. Add the Your Blog Makes Me Happy Award image (located at the top of this post) to your sidebar or your awards page
Now onto the questions!!
1.) What inspired you to create your own doll blog?
Ginny and June: Our love of American Girl did, and so did the plethora of blogs already created. :)
2.) Do you like customized dolls?
Ginny: YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! I really don't want another doll, but if I did get one, I would want to get one I could customize or Julie :) (I bet that some of you can guess who I would customize a doll to be *winks* *sings a four note tune*)
June: Yeah, I think they're nice. I probably won't get one though :)
3.) Do you prefer MyAGs or Girl Of The Year?
Ginny: Probably GOTY, but I like MAG's too :)
June: GOTY's because of my Izzy :)
4.)  If you could choose anywhere in the world to have a dolly photo-op, where would you choose?
Ginny: Oh goodness, probably a forest in Oregon or on the beach somewhere. OR IN PARIS BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE UNEXPLAINABLY AMAZING.  (I kind of have this thing for France ;))
June: I would like to do it on the beach or in England because I have always wanted to go there.
5.) Do you design your own doll clothes?
Ginny: Well, I sew my own doll clothes and add my own little things into them, but I've never designed my own pattern for one, although I would really like to :)
June: Nah, not really.

6.) What is your favorite doll brand?

Ginny and June: AMERICAN GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7.) Do you prefer photo stories or crafts on other doll blogs?
Ginny: Probably photostories because I LOVE reading, but also, we usually don't have many of the things we would need for a craft.
June: I like photostories better because they are more interesting.
8.) What is your favorite American Girl Doll and why?
Ginny: Oh, geez. I couldn't decide on just one, because then I would be picking favorites. I love Molly, Felicity, Cecile, Julie, Caroline, Nicki, Marie-Grace, and I love MAG 55 too. :)
June: Emily, Kit, Ruthie, Isabelle, Rebecca, Samantha, Kirsten, Mia, and Addy.
Thanks again Shelby-Grace!!

Le Soir Noir~Season 1, Part 3

First, let me tell you all that you are some of the sweetest people I have ever met (in a manner of speaking). You all made me feel much better last night (in case you didn't know, I felt a little ashamed of how lame our posts have gotten recently). You all are so right, it's our blog and we need to do it at our pace. That being said, June and I will definitely make a bigger effort to post more often :) You can read part one and two here.
I will make a poster for Le Soir Noir soon hopefully *Added in later-YESSSS, I MADE IT FINALLYYYYYYY*

You guys, I'm all excited about my own series, that I've been working on for three months, I mean seriously, I came up with this story, I should be all excited for you, but I'm equally as excited; I'm insane X)
~x~x~x~
From Josette's POV
I shut the door, the young woman's voice still ringing in my ears.
I closed my eyes. I was overwhelmed by this strange girl, and by the fatigue from two sleepless nights.
I walked away from the girl's room, heading toward the doors of the hospital, where the secretary, Bernadette, sat behind un pupitre petit.
 "Bonsoir, Bernadette."
Bernadette was looking at a small book filled with patients names. She had just turned the page.
Bernadette looked up, her spectacles slightly askew. "Uh, bonsoir Nurse Josette. Desole, je suis tres fatigue le soir." She blinked rapidly as if trying to wake herself up. "Comment etait le patiente? Et comment elle s'appelle?"
I sighed. "Je ne sais pas. She didn't give me the chance to ask."
Bernadette took off her spectacles and closed her eyes.
When she opened them again she said, "Why do our patients always have to be so difficult after a traumatic experience?" She looked at me and frowned.
"Josette, est-ce que tu vas bien?" She must have seen my look of exhaustion.
She walked over to me and touched my arm lightly. "You should go rest."
I smiled half-heartedly, "Unfortunately, I can't. I have to continue to check on our mysterious patient."
Bernadette nodded, looking sympathetic.
I walked away from her desk, heading towards the girl's room.
I opened the door carefully, hoping not to bother her.
However, when I opened the door, she was not there. The bed was empty, and her dress and shoes were also missing.
I leaned against the wall, overwhelmed with the onslaught of things I knew I would now have to deal with. Why couldn't she just stay put?
~To Be Continued~
La Dictionaire Francais:
un pupitre petit~a small desk
Bonsoir~good evening

Comment etait le patiente? Et comment elle s'appelle?~ How was the patient? And what is her name?

I'm Glad You Don't Hate Us

You may be wondering why that is the title. Our reason is that we have been really bad at posting lately. Everybody has been getting their new series' up, and I realized that June has done extremely well with the Runaway Princesses, but I have only posted two episodes/parts/whatever you want to call it of Le Soir Noir. Two Episodes???????????? You guys, that is totally not acceptable. :[ Now I am going to have to postpone it until April, which is equally as unacceptable. I will try to get up the last one this weekend, but once again I have things planned (i.e. a HG movie night with one of my buddies, B which equals total fangirling because only eleven days until Mockingjay. If you are as excited as I am (which is really excited :)) comment "The Mockingjay Lives" below ;)) The third episode is another indoors one, so that should be somewhat feasible to be able to accomplish ;) (Suddenly, the climate has gone from somewhat sunny and 70 degree weather to cold and rainy. CURSE YOU BIPOLAR WEATHER!!!!) I have been meaning to make movie poster like things for Le Soir Noir, but alas, school. Enough said right? *sighs* This is why I'm glad that you (hopefully) don't hate us because seriously, our posts really stink right now. Please bear with our dumbness for a little while longer, we'll recover from school soon enough =) Was this post too essay-ish? I'm still in essay writing mode, (Comparing and contrasting Elizabeth I and Isabella I, or no, maybe it was their religious policies...? :P) and I finished the essay like two hours ago. Ugh. School=ewwww right now. Alrighty, that's enough of my apologies I assume =D Love you all, you are amazing <3 Ooh, one more thing. I think I may cancel Stitch-It Saturday as a series, and just do it as a once in a while thing. I just don't have any time for taking pictures of my sewing (which seems to be really crappy right now) and all of the things I have taken pics of has turned out really crappy so....yeah. Goodbye my lovelies!

The Grateful Blogger Tag and the In The Spotlight Award

So we finally made a couple awards!! To be honest, we made them because we were bored and wanted something to do... So anyway, first is the Grateful Blogger Tag. Since it is November, we thought that we would make up an award that shows the world how thankful you are. Here are the rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you, they will surely appreciate it! Also, leave a link back to the person who nominated you.
  • Write about ten things you are thankful for. Here is the tricky part though; you can't just say you are grateful for gum or video games or whatever "little" thing it is you want to discuss. Think deeply about what is really really important to you, such as family, or life in it of itself. Explain why you are thankful for those things.
  • Tag ten other bloggers; our goal is to tag everyone!! Comment on the blogs you nominate so that they will know that they were tagged!
  • Add the pic above to you sidebar or award page thanking the person (or people) who tagged you.
So, here is an example:
1. We are thankful for our wonderful family because they support us in everything we do.
2. We are thankful for the support we have received from so many amazing bloggers because you are the reason we have a blog :)
3. We are thankful for the arts and music for enriching our lives with beauty.
You get the gist?
We tag:
Now for the award I made up!
Here are the rules:
  • Thank the person who nominated you!
  • Take a picture representing one of your talents. It could include a picture of a doll(s), or something that represents your talent you chose.
  • Answer the 5 questions below:
  • Nominate at least three people that you have NEVER nominated for an award before. No tag backs!!
  • Ask them the same five questions I ask you.
  • Comment on their blog letting them know that you nominated them.
  • Add the pic above on your sidebar or award page thanking the person (or people) who nominated you.
Here are the questions!
1. When did you first begin your talent?
2. Why do you love to do this? (your talent)
3. Who or what inspired you to begin your talent?
4. Is your talent a performing art, a visual art, or something else?
5. Do you have to practice your talent to improve?

We nominate:

Thanks for reading everyone, and have fun nominating!!

Some More Updates

Guys, I know you hate these updates, but sometimes they are necessary.

#1: We told you who knows how many months ago that we were going to do a "Doll Wall Tour." Well, I took some pics for it, but June didn't, and now the wall is changing AGAIN. No, the reason is not a new doll. It is that June and I are switching rooms (we share a room, but are now going to be getting our own rooms), and so all of our AG stuff is going to be moved into our bedroom closets. I know what you're all thinking, "Oh my heck, they're putting away their dolls forever!" No, we're not :) We just don't have room in our rooms to have all of the AG stuff out all of the time, so therefore we have to change things a little bit. However, I'm having mixed feelings on whether I want to put the girls in the closet too (which is a little heart-wrenching </3) or if I want to put them on a shelf above my bed where they'll be safer. I want to know what your opinions are on this subject. Do you think they should go on a shelf, or in a closet where they may get bumped into? I'm leaning towards the shelf, but I haven't decided yet :}

#2: Many of you may have seen Adaline's post about giving credit for her work. We want to let you know that we haven't had a problem with it, and want to keep it that way. Therefore, our policy still stands: you MUST ask first AND give us full credit. You can read our whole policy on the side bar. We suggest that you read Adaline's post here to prevent any additional headache for her and for you.

#3: Last night, we got our first snow of the season (it is quite late this year, usually it snows in late September). While this exciting (or in my case bleh because EWWWWW snow before Christmas), this also means that Le Soir Noir will most likely have to be post-poned until spring (probably April or May). *uncontrollable sadness and weeping* I'm sorry guys, school has decided to take over my life, and has made posting, even on weekends, really hard. If it happens to warm up during this month, (I hope you can all read my sarcasticness and visualize my face of, "Yeah right.") I will try to take some more pics of it. Chances are, I will be able to get Episode Three up because it is an indoor episode. I will try try try try try to get that done quickly. Please don't hate me for my procrastination on writing it and for pushing it back. However, on a lighter note, November means CHRISTMAS PORTRAITS!!!! Hehehehe, guys you have no idea how excited I am for taking Christmas photographs of the girls this year! :D However, in order to do that, I probably should get Grace a Christmas Dress. *sheepish looks*  June and I will begin working on that as soon as we put up the Christmas stuff within the next couple weeks ;)

#4 (additional update added in later) 5000 Pageviews????? 30 followers?????? 18 (ish) comments on every post???? Guys, you are amazing. Without you, we wouldn't have a blog, and we're grateful for that!! THANK YOU SO MUCH WE LOVE YOU ALL UNCONDITIONALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for listening (or rather, reading) to my rant!

A New Design

Hey guys! So as you may have noticed, we changed our background and header! We like this new set-up so we're hoping to keep it for a little while :)

What do you think of our new blog layout?
