Why can't we learn to be respectful?

Do you all want to know the reason we decided to take a break from blogging a few weeks ago?

Yes, part of it was inspiration.
Yes, part of it was school work.

The other part we didn't tell you about was that we were sick of being constantly judged. Sick of feeling like this wasn't our blog. Sick of hearing all of the negativity. We are so dang sick of it.

Maddie from Dolls On My Mind feels this way. To the extent that she wants to leave.

Do you want to know what we want you to do?

WE WANT YOU TO BACK OFF.

LEAVE HER ALONE. DON'T JUDGE ANYONE.

When we started blogging, we tried to change how we acted and how we blogged.

Well, we're done. We're going to be real for once.

Treat others the way you would want to be treated. As young children, June and I were always told to do this. Why don't we all now? Why don't we stop being so judgmental?

If someone doesn't like the same things as you, there is NO reason that you need to say nasty things to them about what they like. How would you feel if others started to do that to you? I'm sure you'd feel absolutely peachy. Just peachy.

Let others like what they want. YOU CAN'T CHANGE PEOPLE. There is no reason to be so disrespectful that you make others feel unwelcomed.

I need you all to do something for me. BE REAL. Write posts that truly represent you. Not a post that conforms to what everyone wants you to write. Write how you really feel. Write about what truly makes you happy.

Make the AG blogging world a fun place to be. Not a place that we all hate. Make all feel welcome. BE ESPECIALLY NICE TO MADDIE. NOT FAKEY NICE. IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY, THEN JUST DON'T COMMENT. If you wouldn't say it in person, don't say it over the internet. EVER. This doesn't just apply to the blogging world. Do this whenever you're on the internet. Do this in everyday life.

GROW UP. There is absolutely no reason to be unnecessarily nasty. NO REASON.

We all have a right to blog. We all have the right to do what we love. Allow others to exercise these rights. Don't make others feel like crap. Lift others up, don't shove them down.

My rant is over for now, but if this continues, you can bet that I will start again.

Don't doubt it.

  1. ginny, this was beautiful. very well said. so sorry to hear that you and june felt the same way and has that reason behind taking a break. oh, and thank you for the kind words. :3 i agree with the "this is it for now" kind of thing referring to your rant, though my case is that if people don't cut the crap, i am in fact leaving, no questions asked. (i have decided to stay for now)

    1. That's okay, dear. It's not your fault. :) You're so very welcome. I'm glad that you've decided to stay for now, but I don't blame you for wanting to stop. I hope things get better for you, hon. <3

Blogging is about being yourself . Doing things your way . What YOU want . Sometimes , it's good to think about others . But when YOU are not happy , and when YOU feel judged , be yourself . NO ONE , NO ONE can tell you have to live YOUR life .Sometimes I think like that . " What if they do t like my post ? What if it's this ? What if it's that ? "If you don't like it , don't do it . Do it exactly how you want . Don't change yourself to be someone you're not to fit in . Be yourself and yourself only and do things they way you want . This is your life , and you live how you want to .

    1. I agree. I feel like all too often, we worry too much about what others think of what we're doing. And I'm sick of it. I truly am. I completely agree.

    1. Yep!! I don't know why people don't treat others well, but it certainly has become a problem. :/

  5. Excellent job, Ginny! I agree with you on everything. I don't understand why people feel the need to go to the trouble of commenting something unkind. It's even worse than saying something unkind. It doesn't just slip out. The person went to all the trouble of typing it. If people don't like what others post, they shouldn't say anything at all.
