A Few Awards That Are Long Overdue

Ginny's photography tip: Try taking photos at different angles but in the same area. For instance, if you are taking a photo of a doll, leave the doll where he/she is, and just move the camera. It works quite well I've found. Ooh, one more thing! Most cameras have several shooting modes, and these shooting modes are very helpful for taking photos at night, taking photos of moving objects, etc. Definitely use them to your advantage!!! They improve your photos greatly. :D

June's photography tip: *says in slightly confused English accent* If you are to be a photographer, remember to change outfits depending on when you take the photo. Oh, and be sure to take the photos before the gong! (Haha, very funny June. In case you didn't know, we are both slightly obsessed with Downton Abbey right now, so if you have no clue what we're talking about, be sure to try watching Downton Abbey.)

1. Have you seen into the woods? (If you have, did you like it?)

Ginny and June: Neither of us have, but we would love to see it!!

2. Do you prefer marshmallows or whipped cream on your hot chocolate?

Ginny: I would definitely have to go with whipped cream: 1. It's delightful. 2. Marshmallows turn into slippery little devils in hot chocolate. X)

June: WHIPPED CREAM IS MY LIFE. Or how about marshmallows AND whipped cream? S:)

3. Would you rather drink apple sauce or eat it with a spoon?

Ginny: I've never tried drinking it, and I'm not sure how much I'd like it (It sounds like it would be much too slurpy; I have this weird pet peeve where I hate listening and watching people eat), so I'll go with 'eat it with a spoon.'

June: I'd rather eat apple sauce with a spoon because *says in preppy English accent* it is the proper Downton Abbey way to do it!

4. Have you tried sea weed? (and if you have do you like it?)

Ginny: I tried sushi for the first time at a local grocery store a few weeks ago, and it had seaweed in it, and I thought the sushi was pretty good, so I'll go with yes and yes. :)

June: No, no, no, and no and I never plan to. EVER.

1. How many American Girl dolls do you own?

Ginny: I own six American Girl dolls, one Bitty Baby, and three AG minis. 

June: I own five American Girl Dolls, one Bitty Baby, and three AG minis.

2. Who was the first doll that you added to your collection?

Ginny: Marie was my first of all of my dolls (she is my Bitty), but Molly was my first American Girl Doll.

June: Maria was the first to arrive of all of my dolls (Bitty!), but Emily was my first AG doll. :)

3. What made you decide to start your blog?

Ginny and June: First, Izzy came out, and that inspired us both to do more with our dolls. And second, we found AG blogs, and thought they were pretty cool. :)

4. Who is your favorite doll and why? (Any doll, not just AG.)

Ginny: Well, I adore my AG dolls equally, but my other favorites are Caroline, Grace, and MAG 55 because I think they are really pretty. I also have recently found A Girl For All Time, and I think they are gorgeous dolls. :D

June: I love all of my dolls and Samantha.

1. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Ginny: I love mint chocolate chip. :D

2. Favorite season?

Ginny: Most of the time, that's a tie between spring and fall, but right now it is spring because of all of the plant life. 

June: I like spring because the flowers are blooming and everything is green. 

3. Favorite animal?

Ginny: Flamingos!!

June: MY FAVORITE ANIMAL IS A DUCK, AND IF ANY OF YOU ABUSE DUCKS, YOU WILL HAVE TO ANSWER TO ME. I also love polar bears and red pandas. xD

4. Pop or juice?

Ginny: I like having soda occasionally, but after learning about the negative effects on your health, I would definitely go with juice. 

June: GRAPE JUICE!!!!! 

5. Inside or outside?

Ginny: I like being outdoors best. :) I find it very calming and enjoyable. 

June: Outdoors because I love nature and animals. :)

6. Pencil or pen?

Ginny: I like writing with pens much better, but my handwriting becomes nearly unreadable in pen. (June claims my handwriting still looks nice in pen, and believes I'm being "a drama queen," but if you saw my handwritten essays you would beg to differ.)

June: I like pen because my handwriting is so much better in pen.

Ginny: I think cows are probably my favorite.

Ginny: Hmm...I have an irrational fear of baboons. They just freak me out.

1. What doll do you want to purchase next?

Ginny: To be honest, I haven't really given a lot of thought to it, but I believe I would probably want Grace Thomas.

June: Addy, Samantha, or Grace, but probably most likely I would get Samantha.
2. What is your opinion on Grace Thomas?
Ginny: *coughs* I THINK SHE'S STINKIN' ADORABLE! *cough* I really like that she has side bangs, and I think her theme is really creative. I've gotten rather tired of all of the GOTY's being sporty, or riding horses. It's gotten a bit old.

June: I like her because she is very unique, ahemsidepartedbangsahem. 3. If you were asked by AG to create the next GOTY, what would her personality be and what would she and her collection look like?
Ginny: Ooh, jeez, I don't know. I think she would probably be quiet and would play some sort of instrument since they haven't really done that yet. I'm not really sure what she would look like; maybe African-American or a red-head.

June: I think I'd rather create a historical character who would be another WWII girl.4. What is your favorite candy? (random question, I know ;)  ) 
Ginny: Hmm....I really like Twix, but I also love toffee. :D

Ginny: I like Historical/Beforever the best, but GOTY is right up there because of Nicki. :)

1. Hot chocolate of Hot apple cider?

Ginny: I'd probably have to go with Hot Chocolate. However, I love cold apple cider (And NO, it is not just apple juice. There is a difference. There is a local Apple Cider Press nearby, and THEY ARE SO STINKIN' AMAZING I CAN'T STAND IT.)

June: I like Hot Chocolate best. :)

2. What is your favorite part of Christmas?

Ginny: I love wrapping gifts and thinking of how happy their receiver will be when they get the gift. :) I also love the overall cheerful feeling that comes at Christmas time. Ooh, one more thing; on Christmas morning, June and I wake up at like seven-ish, and we just sit and talk for hours until our parents wake up. (Usually our dad gets up at about five a.m. on Christmas, but our mom and bro like to sleep in :))

June: I love spending time with family, and seeing and playing in the snow. It's so fun! xD

3. Do you wish you were younger or older than you are?

Ginny: I don't really know. I think I like the age I am; I don't really have any issues with being a teenager. :)

June: I think I wish I were younger because I miss having no homework and being able to be little and play. :D

4. Lee Pace or Evangelina Lilly?

Ginny: Uhhh....who? I'm sorry, I'm so dang clueless about celebrities. I guess I'm not super mainstream. :) My life is homework, orchestra, reading, and hanging with family. ;)

June: Uhh...I don't know who they are. 

5. What is your favorite Christmas food?

Ginny: Jeez, I can't just choose one!! I love eating ham and potato casserole (A.K.A Funeral Potatoes, don't ask me why), although we eat that all year round. I also like cheesy cauliflower, chocolate crinkle cookies, and pecan pie. :)

Ginny: Ooh, getting to stay inside and read and wearing sweaters :) I have a thing for sweaters :)

Ginny: I would definitely say how happy everyone is. Everyone becomes happy and kind and just full of the holiday spirit :)

Ginny: White Christmas. Or this really pretty song we're playing in orchestra called Sheep May Safely Graze by Johann Sebastian Bach.

Ginny: YES!! We make apple pie, pumpkin fluff (which is divine), and chocolate crinkle cookies. They are all amazing :)

Ginny and June: It depends on how much snow we get. Usually we get a foot or more when it snows so we do go outside. We don't go out very often, but the last time we did (which was Christmas Eve last year) we sled on the hill in our backyard or we have a snowball fight. :)

We also got nominated for our own award, the Grateful Blogger tag by Kelsey and Ella Louise. Thanks girls, ans sorry it took us so long to get this up!! June is busy right now, so she told me to just do this one by myself. She stands by what I say though :)

Ginny:

1. I am thankful for my family. They have been there for me through thick and thin, and I don't think I could live without them ;)

2. I am thankful for the opportunity to learn at school and from the books I read. They expand my vocabulary, and make me more aware of the world around me.

3. I am thankful for my sister (June!!!!) and my brother because they have always been my buddies who I know I can count on :)

4. I am thankful for being so fortunate to have a roof over my head, and to be able to live well. I know my parents have worked very hard to provide everything we need.

5. I am thankful for my dolls, and even though I know they're just dolls, I also know that they will keep my secrets, allow me to rant without judging me, and allow me to talk to them without them interrupting.

6. I am thankful for my seventh grade English teacher Mr. C, my U.S. History teacher Mrs. E, and my middle school orchestra teacher Mr. F. My English teacher was the teacher that proved to me that I would survive middle school, and that I would make friends. My U.S History teacher proved to me that I don't have to be embarrassed for being a good student, and that that is a good thing. Mr. F helped me turn in to the violinist I am today, without him, I would never have learned vibrato, or 12/8 time, or countless other things he helped me learn to do. 

7. I am thankful for music. For the longest time, I didn't know what my talent was, and once I discovered my talent for playing the violin, I knew that I would stick with it forever.

8. I am thankful for writing, because without it, I wouldn't want to be an author, and I wouldn't have books to read. I'm kind of a book geek, but through writing and reading, I've discovered that there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

9. I am thankful for photography, because without it, I wouldn't be able to see many things in the world. Photography has really affected my life.

10. I am thankful for all of you, because without you, we wouldn't have a blog. It'd just be a bunch of pictures on a private page that no one else would ever read.

Ginny: Well, we share a room, and if I had my own room (which I will soon!), it would be pretty clean most of the time, but June and I get pretty disorganized when we have a room together.

Ginny: Well, that for me is a loaded question. The book is amazing, but I've never seen the movie. So I guess I'll go with GOG...?

June: I haven't seen either, so neither.

Ginny: I am pretty protective of my newer phone, so basically never, but my old one I dropped at least twice daily on either the tile in the locker room or on the concrete while walking home from school. (It was a smartphone, so it should have shattered the screen, but it didn't)

June: I've only ever dropped my phone once, a couple days after I got it.

Ginny: Rain :)

Ginny: Since I love volleyball, I would probably choose a girl who had a Hispanic or African background who plays volleyball :)

Ginny:Well, there are so many, probably 55, 44, 56, and 61. I also love 38.

4. Why did you start LOVING AG dolls?

5. What's your favorite color?
Ginny: Lime green and lavender. Yellow comes in a close second to those two though :)

June: Aqua blue (turquoise) and coral :)

6. What other companies do you love beside American Girl?

Ginny: Doll companies? Or others? If it is a doll company, I like Madame Alexander (not the 18" ones, the little really expensive ones). I have Jo (from Little Women), and I think she is absolutely gorgeous. I also love OG's accessories for dolls, but not necessarily the dolls themselves. If it is not a doll company...ummmm....book publishing companies? 

June: I like OG, TY Beanie Babies, and home made dolls :)

7. What is your favorite American Girl doll blog?

Ginny: You are trying to make me choose? You are all such amazing people, I can't choose just one :)

June: I can't choose!

8. What's your favorite AG outfit?

Ginny: Once again, I have to choose?? Maybe Lissie's holiday gown. Or Nicki's Gala outfit. Or maybe Cecile's Meet outfit. To be honest, I'm not really sure which is my fav :)

June: Any of Ruthie's or Kit's Dresses.

9. Would you rather buy doll items from the store or make them?

Ginny: I think I would rather make them, but that requires more fabric, so if I had more fabric, I would always make the clothes.

June: I'm not a very experienced sewer, so I would probably just buy AG's outfits. 

10. Do you play any sports?

Ginny: I used to play volleyball, but the rec center I was playing at was VERY unorganized, so I was always being put on teams of kids of whom I was older than (like by three or four years) so it didn't really work out. They didn't have a team for the other kids so I of course had to teach them to play volleyball. I'm planning to try out for my school's team next year though :)

June: Not at the moment, but I used to play soccer.

1. If you could visit any fictional world, where would you go and why?

Ginny: Well, THG is my fav series, but I'm not so sure I want to go to Panem. (Unless of course I could be like a phantom or something who wouldn't actually be there) So, I would love to go to Camp Half Blood, Hogwarts, or Maycomb because those are places in my all time favorite books and I love them :) (Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, To Kill A Mockingbird)

June: I would love to go to Bayern, the Land of Stories, and Chicago (Divergent)2. Favorite thing to do to cure boredom?

Ginny: READ!!!

June: Play dolls and draw (or paint)!3. Who is your idol?

Ginny: To be honest I'm not really sure. Fictional: Katniss or Hermione. Real: My parents :)

June: I admire Tris from Divergent and my parents :)4. Tom Hiddleston or Justin Bieber? (trick question)

Ginny: Ha. Haha. Hahaha!! Well, there is no way that I would ever say Justin Bieber, so Tom Hiddleston all the way :) (I mean, who would say no to Loki?)

June: Huh? Who is the first guy?5. What would your superhero name be?

Ginny: This may sound dumb, but when we were little, June and I made ourselves into superheroes. My name was Sunbeam :)

June: I was Star Princess!!6. Have you ever watched an utterly random movie because an actor you knew was in it?

Ginny: Probably, I just can't think of one at the moment :)

June: Nope. 7. Favorite band(s) at the moment?

Ginny: You even have to ask? ONE DIRECTION ALL THE WAY!!! I say it loud, I say it proud :)
