Who Are the Bloggers?

Who are the Bloggers?
Ginny
I am a bookworm. A serious bookworm who is obsessed with reading.
I am a photographer. My love for photography has been present for several years, but about two years ago, I really began to set aside more time for photography.
I am a crazy teenager who loves to hang out with family and friends, and they accept my craziness.
I am a seamstress. I learned to sew nearly ten years ago, but have really started to perfect my sewing skills over the last two years.
I am a writer. Most of my friends and family aren't surprised when they see me scribbling down a thought for a novel.
I am a volleyball player. I played volleyball for nearly three years, but had to quit because I didn't like the league I was apart of.
I am a violinist. I have been playing the violin for over seven years, and adore music. I participate in my school's orchestra, and I absolutely love it.
I am not afraid to get my hands dirty. I like learning to repair old machines and work on the car, even though I am a fairly girly girl. :D
I am a blogger. I love being able to share my love of American Girl with all of you lovelies!
I am an amateur cook. I love being in the kitchen whenever I can be.
I am in love with many types of food. You name it, I probably like to eat it. xD
I am a complete and utter history geek. I love learning about the past and learning about peoples' lives. And the French Revolution. xD
I am a French girl at heart. I can speak French mostly fluently after taking four years of French classes, and I would love to visit Paris someday.
I am a Directioner. Take it as you will, but they are my favorite band.
I am obsessed with the Hunger Games trilogy, the Gone series, the Ashes series, Fever 1793, the Percy Jackson series (all ten of them!), To Kill a Mockingbird, The Selection Series, and Harry Potter. Just to name a few.
I am also a fan of Downton Abbey, Agents of Shield, Agent Carter, and the Flash.
I am in love with flamingoes.
I am in love with my 6 beautiful American Girl Dolls.

I am blessed with an absolutely amazing sister and brother, and a close family.

Hello! My name is June and my sister is Ginny (from Harry Potter, just kidding!) I L-O-V-E:

I am so excited to post things for everyone!

Our AG Story:
It all started around the year 2004. We were visiting our grandparents. Our Grandma handed us a catalog. We were very young, probably still very clueless and somewhat immature. We kept on playing whatever silly toys we were playing. And then Ginny, feeling curious, opened the catalog, and found a world she had never known existed. She showed June, and they both fell in love with what they saw. Still too young for a regular American Girl Doll, both had their heart set on a Bitty Baby, Ginny the brunette with brown eyes, and June the blonde with blue-gray eyes. Right before Christmas a year later, we got our first ever AG dolls. They were Bitty Babies, but we were still in love with our "babies."

We played with those dolls for several years, loving them, and playing "mommy" as we called it. Soon though, we started to outgrow the baby dolls, and we once again began perusing over the catalogs at the "big girl dolls." Ginny fell in love with Nicki at first, thinking about her constantly. She got Nicki's books, and read them through at least four times each in 2007. June had her mind set on Emily Bennett the whole time. As the year progressed, Ginny soon began to think maybe Molly was a better choice, because Molly like her was a brunette with bangs. Thanksgiving 2007, Ginny changed her mind, knowing that Molly was the one she wanted most.

We asked Santa for Molly and Emily, but on Christmas Day, we were disappointed. Santa had brought a Polly Pocket Racetrack and My Little Pony Teapot Palace. Feeling disappointed yet still happy, we opened the rest of the gifts from our family. At the end, we reached two rectangular boxes, and opened them. To our shock, Molly and Emily were in the packages! That same Christmas, our AG collections started to become very large. We each received much of Molly and Emily's collection.

For two years, we played with Molly and Emily. And then, in 2009, we got the opportunity to go to the AGP LA. We had a great time. Molly and Emily both got their hair done, we each bought several outfits, and both almost bought Bennett and Rebecca's kittens. Our dad thought the pets were a waste of money, and after much whispering with our mom, told us that if we didn't buy the pets, they'd buy us each another doll. We were both astounded, and we immediately agreed. For Ginny, the choice was between Julie, Chrissa, and Felicity. Ginny ended up choosing Felicity, looking at each doll, and ultimately choosing the Felicity two rows back in the center. For June, the decision was much harder. She was torn between Kirsten, Kit, and Elizabeth. She ultimately chose Kit, also looking for the prettiest doll.

For another two years, our AG collection only grew in the amount of clothing we had, not dolls. Eventually, June decided she wanted another doll. Ginny helped her peruse the AG website, June debating over Addy, Ruthie, and a MAG doll. As Ginny looked, she realized that she wanted another doll, too. June decided on Ruthie, and Ginny saw Kanani for the first time. She fell in love, wanting her fiercely. The same day she decided she wanted Kanani, Cecile and Marie-Grace were released. Our mom called us to the office, and as soon as Ginny saw Cecile, she knew that Cecile was really the doll she wanted. We saved up our money, and finally ordered Ruthie and Cecile in September 2011.

Right after Cecile and Ruthie arrived, we both played dolls frequently. However, we were getting older, and June, before Ginny, decided that American Girl Dolls were not as big of a deal as they were at one time. We played with them irregularly, and soon we just stopped altogether.

Then we found AG blogs. First we found My American Girl. And then American Girl Fan. And then AGD Time. Soon, we also found Living a Doll's Life and Snickerdoodle Street. After that, we found out about GOTY 2014, Isabelle, and June knew that she had to have her. From that moment forward, we knew we wanted to blog about our growing collection of dolls. We had only ever had one neighbor who liked American Girl, and they had stopped buying AG stuff years ago, so for us blogging was the one way for us to connect with other doll lovers. Ever since the day we found Isabelle, and the day we found all of those blogs, we knew at some point that we'd have a blog. Nicki joined our collection, right after Isabelle. Ginny saw her on eBay, and remembered how much she still wanted Nicki.

On July 10, 2014, we finally got the courage to ask our parents for a blog. They agreed on one condition: we find a way to do something different on our blog, something that no one else does. So that is what we strive to do, do something different. We eventually found many blogger friends, those who commented on every post, and who posted our button to their page. Our posts changed from boring and not very well written to posts that we could be proud of. Marie-Grace, Mia, and Julie eventually found their way into our family, too. And we are thankful, to all of you who have supported us since the beginning, those of you who are new readers, those of you who comment, and to those of you who don't. You are all amazing, and we are so glad to have been able to get to know you!
Thanks for stopping by!!

  9. Your guy's did a great job writing your story! It is so neat how lots of American Girl dolls blogs start by girls who loved dolls when they were younger, grew out of them,But then somehow see something about american girl and then get back into them and then started a blog! That is how my blog got started!=)
