Viva la Vida~An AGPS

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

I used to roll the dice

Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes
Listened as the crowd would sing
Now the old king is dead long live the king

One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

I hear Jerusalem bells a-ringing

Roman cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
Missionaries in a foreign field

For some reason I can't explain
Once you'd gone there was never
Never an honest word
And that was when I ruled the world

It was a wicked and wild wind

Blew down the doors to let me in
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
People couldn't believe what I'd become

Revolutionaries wait
For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string
Oh who would ever want to be king?

I hear Jerusalem bells a-ringing

Roman cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
I know St Peter won't call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world

Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
I hear Jerusalem bells a-ringing

Roman cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field

For some reason I can't explain
I know St Peter won't call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world

What did you guys think? I really wish the photos had turned out better, but I think they look okay.

So, here is the story behind the photoshoot. This year, I have been in a European History class, and we recently discussed the French Revolution. It has been my absolute favorite unit (and no, not because of the blood and gore) of all of the events we have covered. I love learning about the French Revolution because the reasons for the Revolution are so complicated. My second reason for doing this photoshoot is that my favorite song is Viva La Vida by Coldplay. I didn't know it was based on the life of Louis XVI, but as soon as I began to learn about the French Revolution, the lyrics made sense. Before, I loved it for the music, after all, I am a musician. But now, I love it for its meaning and the music. The girls are dressed up in clothing that represents the time period, and most of their outfits remind me of Marie Antoinette, (I recently read a book about her; it was fascinating) who was the French queen during the Revolution. They all have blue, white, and red ribbons in their hair because those are the colors on the French Tricolore, which also originated during the Revolution:

Anyway, that is the long and complicated explanation of why I took these photos. :) Also, sorry about the black specks all over the photos. My mom's camera has a bit of dirt stuck inside the lens that has never seemed to go away, so we always get strange black specks all over the photos. :)

I edited a few photos for fun. :)

Oh, that reminds me! I was looking at all of the editing features that Pic Monkey has, and one of them is a double exposure! I learned how to create a double exposure with Photoshop in photography the other day. It is SO complicated, but it results in really cool photos. I would post one of the photos I edited, but all of the pictures I took were of June, my mom, and little bro. :P Just try Googling double exposure though; it looks so cool! When we get Photoshop on the computer again, I will try editing a photo of the girls and show it to you. :)

I should have another post up in a little bit. ;)

P.S. I thought I would include a family photo we took the other day as well. :)

    2. I just looked up double exposure and it's soooooo cool!! Do you have to layer two photos on top of each other?

    3. I know right?? Basically yes, but you also have to cut out the subject and copy the other photo and such. In photography, we followed a tutorial, so if I can find it, I'll give you the link. I could also do a tutorial if you wish. :)

    4. That would be cool if you could find the link. Do you think that I could do it using Lightroom? A tutorial would be awesome!
