Blogger Recognition Award and the Famous People Tag

Hello everyone! So yesterday and today, we were nominated three times for the Blogger Recognition Award (!), and then today were nominated for the Famous People tag (or maybe it's tagged...hmmm....) We'll start with the Blogger Recognition Award:
Thank you Adaline, Carli, Charlotte, and Kelsey for nominating us!! You girls are fabulous! This award was created by Eve at Edge of Night.

The rules for this award are as follows: (from AG in the Shire)
  • Give a brief story of how your blog got started, and give a piece or two of advice to new bloggers. Thank whoever nominated you, and provide a link to their blog. List who you've nominated in the post.
    • Make sure to also attach the award itself! (You can do this by right-clicking, saving, and uploading the image).
  • Comment on each blog and let them know you've nominated them. Provide a link to the award post you created.
  • Provide a link to the original post on Edge of Night. That way, anyone can find the original guidelines and post if needed, and we can keep it from mutating and becoming confusing! (It happens LOL).
First, our story=very long and probably very boring. We will give you a summary of our story, and you can check out the whole thing on the "About Us" page.

First, our grandma got us into American Girl. She handed us a catalog and BOOM! Our love for AG began to blossom. We got Marie and Maria first; followed by Molly and Emily; then Felicity and Kit; and then mini Rebecca and Julie; then mini Kirsten;  then Cecile and Ruthie; then mini Caroline and Samantha; then Isabelle; then Nicki; and finally Marie-Grace. (Phew! That was a lot of thens!!)

However, before our collection was complete, we began to lose interest in dolls, and eventually stopped playing with them. Once we started discovering doll blogs such as AGD Time, American Girl Fan, and Living a Doll's Life. We also discovered GOTY 2014, and decided that maybe we wanted a blog too! For about a year, we wanted a blog, but didn't get one until June of this year. Our parents were VERY reluctant to allow us to get a blog, but our dad told us one thing: "I want you girls to do something different and unique on your blog, not what everyone else is doing." That is the basic philosophy of our blog (if any of you younger readers don't know what that means, it means that it is what we strive to do and what we have based our blog off of). It has never been about being the most popular or most commented on or any of that; it's always been about meeting people who share our interests, and getting to know them on a somewhat personal level (somewhat because obviously, we will probably never meet any of in real life, but hey, you never know).

Advice from Ginny: Obviously, our blog is pretty new, but there have been a few things I have come to understand about blogging. Those of you who want to start a blog need to take the first step and ask for one. Don't make a secret blog, or keep that desire within yourselves. Obviously, there will be no harm done if you are told, "No!" It just means that you don't get a blog, and you can always try again. Also, there is a such thing as too young for a blog. The blogosphere is seemingly innocent and safe, but it is not necessarily always so innocent and safe. So just be aware that the younger you are, the more vulnerable you are, and that maybe, you should wait a few years (no offense was intended in those last sentences, but safety is ALWAYS the number one priority). Lastly, don't become follower hungry, or comment hungry, or pageview hungry. Followers, pageviews, and comments will come in time, but realistically, you need to ask yourself, "Why am I writing on this blog?" If it is just to get followers and comments, then you are not viewing this the right way. Blogging is about having fun, and finding people who feel the same way as you do! As long as you keep that idea in mind, your blog will be successful.

June's Advice: When Ginny and I started a blog I was very worried about if you guy's wouldn't like me, I was also worried that you guy's wouldn't read my posts. I have learned that you can't fret about it, the commenters/readers will pretty much like you and enjoy reading your  posts. Second, embrace your hobby. What I mean is that no one can tell you that you are to old for dolls, yes I try not to tell everybody around me that I have a blog, and I play with dolls, and I talk to my dollies as if they are alive, but don't stop your hobby just because somebody tells you to. Also, think before you write, you don't want to write anything mean, hurtful, or even kind of controversial.

We nominate/choose:
Remember: IF you don not want this award, just let us know! You don't have to accept it!
Thanks again girls!!

June: ...
9. Do you think the actors/actresses have improved over the last 100 years?
Ginny: I am really not into this stuff, but I think the acting itself has improved, but not the attitudes and private lives of celebs.
June: Nope nope nope.

    1. Well, I think it means that you choose a bunch of people, and then they choose a bunch of people so on and so forth. Basically it is just a fancy word for nominating. :)
